Raffles Place is an underground MRT station located on the East West Line and the North South Line. It is directly under Singapore's major financial center. It has known to be one of the most busiest stations on the network. It has a walking distance to Downtown and Telok Ayer.

History

Raffles Place opened on the 12 December, 1987. Along with City Hall, they were one of the first interchanges on the MRT system. At that time, this station was the deepest station, but this was broken by Dhoby Ghaut, Bras Basah, Promenade and then Bencoolen. On October 7, 2017, a small fire sparked between here and Marina Bay. It died by itself later on. The cause was unknown but some speculate that it was due to a short circut.
